The origin of Foothills Livestock Auction has a long history in the town of Stavely, Alberta.
The market sits on 10 acres of land and was built in 1965. Among the numerous owners of the market are Blair Vold (Vold, Jones & Vold Auction Co.) and Rob Bergevin, who partnered in 2004 - 2015 to establish what is today a strong and vibrant business focusing on customer service.
Rob Bergevin brought his extensive expertise to the market operations. He began his auctioneering career back in 1988 and worked with the Calgary Stockyards before moving on to sell in other venues. Since then, along with operating the market, he serves as the past president of the Alberta Auction Markets Association, and President of the Livestock Markets Association of Canada.
2015 saw Rob and his wife Sharon purchase sole ownership of the market…now known as Foothills Auctioneers Inc. Rob and Sharon live in the Stavely area and have been active members of the community and surrounding area.
In December of 2019, Foothills Auctioneers Inc., partnered with Perlich Bros. Auction Market Ltd., a family owned business serving the agricultural community for over five decades. They are proud to be part of the industry and it’s traditions.
